I started off as a slim child / teenager and fell into bad diet culture in my late teens / early 20s which was fulled by low self esteem. After the pandemic, I put on about 2.5 stone which I struggled to lose as I was in a bad habit of weekday restriction and binging as soon as Friday hit. I was in slimming world, weight watchers...I tried it all but it never stuck.
I felt so self conscious of looking different to how I used to and people noticing that.
I had good intentions to "start again" after I got engaged but fell back into bad habits. I was then diagnosed with a genetic condition which means I now have to take medication long term. I was told a healthy lifestyle would be key in helping managing the symptoms and this was the shock I needed to finally take control and give my body and mind the love + attention they deserve.
When I started working with Siobhan, she spoke to me about my lifestyle, my values and what I wanted to achieve from the Embody Method. She listened to my priorities and tailor made me a program to fit around my lifestyle by building daily habits, giving me a programme to follow in the gym and helping me understand nutrition so that I was no longer avoiding foods I thought were "bad" whilst prioritising fuelling for health and strength. I loved utilising the emotional eating tools so I recognised why I would choose to binge and not feel like I was broken.
I've been working with Siobhan for a year now and the difference in my body and mind is astounding. The plan may have focused on weightloss and exercise but I have gained so much more than that. I notice that I am now talking to myself more kindly and feel connected with myself. I've realised it's not all about the scale weight and celebrating the other successes i've discovered along the way.

I've learnt that balance and consistency are key. Whilst taking part in the Embody Method I have been on nights out, holidays and enjoyed take aways. No guilt, no binging and no restrictions.
Siobhan has been so supportive throughout my journey and has not only been a soundboard for any wobbles but a fountain of knowledge whenever I had any questions or needed guidance.
I would encourage anyone considering signing up with the Embody Method to do it! I wish I had found Siobhan years ago because I finally feel free from the endless preoccupation of food + exercise.
